Manifest Your Wants

I was my first client. The core fundamentals of The Nourished Group are based upon my own health journey. I was not living a life that was in alignment with what was best for me. Far longer than I care to admit or remember “I’m so tired” was my daily mantra.I had given up on my life, dialed down the inner monologue, you know that voice that keeps you from eating that 11th cookie and gives you the encouragement to chase your dreams. Along with “I’m so tired” came the equally damaging cousin, “Sure, whatever you want”.

I stopped caring about anything. It was safe to say I was truly uninspired to try and live a life I loved. I was a world class people pleaser. I fell hard, lost sight and control of my life because I stopped caring. with no focus or goals to work towards, I was simply existing. Who wouldn’t be tired, right? Then there is that "ah ha" moment. That moment that forces you to take a hard look at your life. Mine was not pretty, I can assure you. But once I did and turned the volume back up and listened to my intuition, that was it, there was no turning back. Once you become inspired the universe clears all obstacles from your path and shines a mega-watt spotlight on your goals and how to achieve them. You begin to manifest YOUR wants and sure enough you start getting them. Once you put you first and harness that incredibly powerful energy of inspiration, there is nothing that can stop you but you.

The Nourished Group

The Nourished Group was created primarily out of frustration. Having spent most of my life struggling with my weight, brain fog, fatigue and lack of motivation, it wasn’t until my 30’s that I realized that this was not normal, that going through life sleep-walking was not how I was supposed to feel. I began to educate myself by feverishly scouring the internet for information and just when I thought I finally understood and figured it out, I would read another article or study that would completely contradict my newly formed belief system.

The Diet Industry, Big Food and Big Pharma are all pushing their own agenda and making it nearly impossible to be able to properly educate ourselves on what is right for our body. We are each unique in how our body processes and reacts to the food we eat and the environments we are in. We will have a completely different response than the person next to us.

How then could one diet work for all of us? How can one pill relieve everyones symptoms? The answer is, they can’t yet we are willing to pay endless amounts of money on pills, powders and potions hoping to find the answer. Our bodies are designed to heal themselves and yet we do just about everything we can destroying them in the name of “health”. So in the name of health, I went back to school and became certified as a Health Coach.

What is a Health Coach?

Health coaches educate and support clients to achieve their health goals through lifestyle and behavior adjustments. It takes a year of training to become credentialed as a health coach. Health coaching focuses not only on the food you eat, but also your lifestyle.

A health coach can spend the time to help someone figure out what their personal health and wellness issues are, how they intersect and affect them holistically and help them develop strategies to overcome them, whether it's that they want to lose weight, reduce stress, sleep better or lower the risk of chronic disease

Certified Health and Wellness Coaches are professionals from diverse backgrounds and education who work with individuals and groups in a client-centered process to facilitate and empower the client to achieve self-determined goals related to health and wellness.

Research has clearly demonstrated the value of coaching in helping people improve health behaviors, and because the United States is currently facing an epidemic of obesity, diabetes and other lifestyle-related diseases resulting from poor nutrition and physical inactivity.

The Coaching Relationship

I will educate and support you to achieve your health goals through lifestyle and behavior adjustments. We will focus not only on the food you eat, but also your lifestyle and behavior. We will work together in finding new ways to inspire healthier habits that are conducive to a higher quality of life, while promoting wellness and helping you realize your personal best. We will develop a coaching relationship where I will assist you through the process of actively working towards better health by providing support, encouragement, and education.

The Coaching Experience

Though my coaching I offer the following:

  • Provide effective solutions and suggestions on health and fitness issues
  • Work closely with you in meeting your health and wellness goals
  • Provide face to face support and education
  • Counsel and advise you to improve your overall health condition
  • Understand your prevailing health conditions and offer possible solutions to address health issues
  • Identify the need for behavioral change to improve health status, reduce health risks and improve quality of life
  • Involve in motivational interviewing and engagement strategies
  • Suggest exercises, diet charts, meditation or mental stress reducing techniques

Motivated Change

My goal is not only to guide you through the health and wellness improvement process, but to invoke inwardly motivated change. When I counsel clients, sleep, fitness, cooking, time management and stress are the most common areas (besides food) they want to improve upon. We will start small and layer your goals. Give yourself time to adapt to new a regimen (even if seems simple). As we increase the awareness of potential problems caused, consequences experienced, and risks faced as a result of the learned behavior, I will help you envision a better future, and encourage you to become increasingly motivated to achieve it.

Goal Setting

Goal Setting. Goal setting involves the development of an action plan designed specifically for you to motivate and guide you toward your goals. Goal setting works in 4 ways:

  • Choice: Goals narrow attention and direct efforts to goal-relevant activities, and away from goal-irrelevant actions.
  • Effort: Goals can lead to more effort. Some goals may cause you to work more intensely towards that goal than others.
  • Persistence: You are more likely to work through setbacks if pursuing a goal. People perform better when they are committed to achieving certain goals.
  • Cognition: Goals can lead you to develop and change your behavior.

Manageable Change

By making small, manageable changes to meet your goals, we will create an action plan that is realistic so you don’t set yourself up for failure. We will focus on what you can do, not the laundry list of what you can not do. We will shift your focus where you find one thing that you can focus in on and it will totally change your perspective, it will change your day. We will work on changing your mindset that over extending yourself for your friends, for your family, for your loved ones never leaves you enough time and energy for self care which is critical for your health and ability to be the best version of you.
