Sweet and spicy and so simple to make. Overnight oats are such a great go to meal because it does the work for you. They are a staple fridge find in my house. A quick grab and go meal with so many health benefits.

Oats contain more protein and fat than most grains, which is a good thing if you are a vegetarian or vegan. They help reduce cholesterol and blood sugar levels and increased growth of good bacteria in the digestive tract.

Cacao Nibs are essentially chocolate in it raw state. They are slightly bitter but a sprinkle of coconut sugar can easily balance out the flavor if you prefer your oats on the sweeter side. Cacao Nibs may decrease the risk of stroke or heart attack.

Cinnamon is a natural anti-inflammatory that helps the body fight infection and repair tissue damage. It helps reduce blood pressure and the risk of heart disease.

Cayenne Pepper helps to regulate blood sugar, may boost your metabolism making you burn more calories per day, may reduce your hunger helping you eat less and feel full longer.

Ingredients:

2 Cups – Organic Thick Rolled Oats

1/2 Cup – Chia Seeds

1/2 Cup – Flax Seeds

1/2 Cup – Organic Cacao Nibs (Gives the oats that crunchy bitter chocolate bite)

2 Tbsp – 100% Cacao Powder (No sugar added)

1 Tbsp – Cinnamon

1 Tbsp – Cayenne Powder

2 Cups – Almond & Coconut Milk

In a large glass mason jar with a tight fitted lid, I pour the milk over the dry ingredients and add more if the mixture is too dry and based on your preference of texture and consistency. Shake well to be sure all ingredients are mixed and covered with liquid. Place in fridge overnight. I like to add frozen berries for an icy bite. Blackberries, blueberries and raspberries are on the lower end of the glycemic index so the sugar content stays low.

Enjoy.
